Liverpool Bio Innovation Centre

Great news to hear of the new plans which aims to turn Liverpool into a global centre for life sciences research.

MEDTEK exhibition

4D visited the annual MEDTEK exhibition at the NEC. Highlights of the day?

  • Reclaiming 4 hours by using the train. Coffee, table, and a wireless connection (At a price!)
  • Some really impressive microfluidics manufacturing techniques
  • A ten minute ‘pay what you think it is worth’ back massage – Priceless!

We attended the ‘Better Healthcare through digital technologies’ event at the Nowgen centre in Manchester.

Bringing together creative professionals and clinicians with real needs for better methods of patient care. A great forum for exploring new technological solutions in medicine. Lots of talk of remote, non-invasive patient monitoring.

MedTEC Medical Device Exhibition

4D Products visited the MedTEC exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham. A great event to keep up to date with new products and services specifically relevant to the medical device design sector. We uncovered some great new suppliers for microfluidics and  sterile packaging, whilst catching up with some old contacts in injection moulding and rapid prototyping. A 4D designed vacuum cast prototype was also spotted on the Paragon stand!

Medilink Awards

James and Iain attended the recent Medilink UK awards event at the Merchant Adventurers Club in York. They were invited in their capacity as shareholders in a joint venture with Medilink NW, which is developing an innovative pain management system.

The event was attended by delegates from the NHS, TrusTECH, Medilink, the NWDA, and the private sector. Innovation in business and product design in the medical sector over the last 12 months was recognised with a series of awards in the beautiful historic building located in York city centre. It was also a great opportunity to make new contacts and connections in a relaxed and interesting environment.
